- An International Association of Machinist (IAM) sponsored event hosting the major candidates running for governor and senator of the State of Washington. Candidates for the Senate seat were Arthur B. Langley and Warren G. Magnuson and candidates for the governor were Albert Rosellini and Emmett Anderson. The main issue argued at the convention was Initiative 198 which would have made Washington a right to work state.
