- Joseph Hawkins was born in Washington, D.C. in 1949. He attended Howard University and then entered the Air Force for a brief period. Hawkins worked for the Federal Aviation Administration for more than a decade. While there, he received his master's degree in Economics from Georgetown University. Hawkins later earned another master's degree from George Washington University in Public Administration. Hawkins ended his career working for the TSA.
In this interview, Joseph Hawkins describes growing up in Washington, D.C. He discusses his early education and path to Howard University. In this interview, he discusses his many professional careers using his degrees in economics. He discusses in depth his career at the FAA and working with the rules-making committee.
