- Photograph of a dinner meeting of the Union of Georgia, which was a group promoting racial equality. Attached to the back of the photograph are typed statements identifying five attendees and putting down the group. The identified attendees are most likely the white men at the table. The typing reads: "1. Bryan Lumpkin, Editor of Paper and member of the Union of Georgia / 2. Dan McGill with Athens Paper. / 3. Dr. Shinn, Acting Dean of Law, Univ. of Georgia. / 4. Mr. Hodson, Hodson Oil Co; Athens; also connected with Union of Ga. / 5. Bob McWhorter, Mayor of Athens; also has connections with the Union of Georgia. (The Union of Georgia is an organization of negroes and whites teaching racial equality in the South. Dean Cocking was its leader.)" The last sentence implies that this photograph may have been published in connection with the Cocking Affair.
