- Description:
- Recording of the COPE Report where George Meany, President of the AFL-CIO, speaks with reporters and an announcer from the COPE Report who summarizes segments. In this recording, in the first segment, George Meany answers questions about the AFL-CIOs decision to back neither candidate in the 1971 Presidential Election (McGovern/Nixon) and to instead focus on backing senators and congressmen who support the labor movement. In the second segment, the COPE Report interviews Matt Goldfinger and Leo Perlis on the presidential administration’s wage and price control efforts since 1969. The recording fades out before the interview is finished.
