- Tim Hayes was born February 16, 1950 in Atlanta, Ga. He became interested in civil rights movements at a very young age and become involved in various organizations, including the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and the Black Panther Party. After discovering that the Black Panther Party had been infiltrated by police, Hayes contacted people he had connections with who worked for The Great Speckled Bird. He later worked full-time for the Bird.
In this interview, Tim Hayes talks about his family and childhood. He also talks about the various radical organizations he was involved with including SNCC and The Black Panther Party. Hayes also talks about his experience working with revolutionaries around the world, including describing his experience in an Israeli prison. Later, he talks about his positive and negative experiences working for The Bird, including the racism he experienced from his colleagues. Hayes talks about leaving Atlanta for Philadelphia and discusses what his life is like now. - Metadata URL:
