- Description:
- (file edited) Borman reiterates the accomplishments of the aviation industry and economic struggles faced by Eastern (labor, fuel cost increases) almost verbatim to his address in AV0001. He details the competition for new western routes by eastern regional airlines in the era of deregulation. He expresses gratitude for the cooperation extended by Boston's airport operators in facilitating Eastern's expansion into the Northeast and European market. He anticipates that Eastern will become a truly national airline within the next three years. He concludes by reflecting on how "freedom" for the entire human species is dependent on the United States' military strength and economic health. The final seconds of the recording contain a solo piano rendition of the Godfather theme.
