- Description:
- (file edited) Dr. Kahn explains the recent actions of the board as they transition many aspects of Eastern because "if someone cannot explain what he is doing in simple language, then he is probably doing something wrong." He highlights the ways that the Civil Aviation Board was superseding the boards of airlines in determining what actions would be profitable and how to spend their revenue. He laments how this is a unique position for any industry in the American economy and has stifled the innovativeness and flexibility of airlines. He continues to illustrate examples in the recent past when this dynamic has caused airlines to lose profits and even collapse entirely.
