- Robert Shipner was Eastern's Vice President of Flight Operations and System Chief Pilot during the years of 1984-1986. His tenure at Eastern began in 1956 as a pilot. Additionally, Mr. Shipner served as the Chicago chairman of ALPA Council and as a member of the Pilot Pension Fund Trust Administration Committee. His positions within Eastern and among the labor groups served as a segue between management and employees that assisted in negotiations perspectives.
