- Sidney and Deena Kushner reside in Athens, Georgia, and have been active with ERA Athens, ERA Georgia, and other organizations. In 1999, Dr. Deena Kushner was the owner and manager of University Gymnastics Center. Dr. Sidney Kushner received his PhD from Brandeis University in 1970, and is a Fellow for the American Academy for the Advancement of Science. He is a professor of molecular genetics at the University of Georgia and serves on the editorial board of UGA's ""Georgia Review"". The Kushner's have two children.
