- Early Western Electric 500 watt amplifier. Arrow on the upper right indicates a ""spark trans-coder."" Arrow on lower right indicates a receiver. An excerpt of a letter from electrical worker Ed L. Cowan describes the group of photos: ...I found out that WSB had gotten the first WE [Western Electric] amplifier...I was able to get the second shipped into Atlanta. This was used to give the baseball fans at the park ball scores and other news. A program was also given each Sunday afternoon for some time.
