- Newspaper assignment sheet attached to print verso identifies photographer (Louie Favorite): "...the peace statue (bronze, with big angel overlooking Civil War soldier)..." Newspaper caption: "Piedmont Park's bronze angel was dedicated in 1910 by Atlanta's first militia." Caption date-stamped: "Wed Dec 04 1991 J - C." Monument inscription refers to "Gate City Guard." The Allen G. Newman's (sculptor) Peace Monument was erected by the Old Guard of the Gate City Guard in 1911.
