- Printed on assignment sheet: "Whitehall Street, looking north toward Five points-- marked by water tower. Railroad tracks, and the gulch in which they were laid, was later spanned by the Whitehall Street viaduct. At right is the Kimball House hotel; at left, the once popular National house." Caption: "Site of present Whitehall St. Viaduct. This scene photographed probably in the early '80's is the site of the present Whitehall St. viaduct looking north to Five Points (watertower). The National hotel, famous landmark, is at left, where the Peachtree Arcade now stands. Old Kimball House is on the right. This photograph was submitted by Mrs. Horace B. Davis, 200 Racine st., S.W. Atlanta. She will receive $5 for her published contribution. November 30, 1947." Caption: "This scene of what was Whitehall Street looking north toward Five Points was snapped in the '80s - the 1880s. The water tower in the background stands at Five Points Thursday June 17, 1982" Caption: "Whitehall Street in Atlanta was the site of a riot by frustrated Civil War widows, who broke into stores and took flour, bacon and other food. Thursday March 17, 1991 J C"
