- Newspaper assignment sheet attached to print verso identifies photographer JoEllen Black: "Matt Omell [sic], of Local 41, passes out fliers to motorist near Fox. Local 41 (stagehands) are on strike because they have not received a pay increase in six years and they have no workmen's compensation." Caption: "Fox workers stage a strike. Matt Omel passes out fliers to motorists Tuesday outside the Fox, where a strike by theater tagehands over pay and benefits affected 30 positions in the production of 'La Cage aux Folles.' The positions were filled by both union and non-union technicians, Fox management said. Negotiations between the sides continue." Date-stamped "Wed Aug 19 1987 J."
