- Newspaper caption attached to print verso:"Ground Breaking for Hospital: Construction began Thursday for the $4 million, 160-bed Scottish Rite Hospital for Crippled Children, which will replace the present hospital built in 1918. Taking part in the groundbreaking are John L. Westmoreland, chairman of the board of trustees of the hospital; Mrs. Roy H. Hudson, a patient from Bogart; John W. Zuber, Scottish Rite Inspector General for Georgia; Donna Latner, 13, a patient from Columbus; and Wilbur F. Glenn, vice chairman of the board of trustees." Photographer: Chuck Vollertsen. Photo stamped on:May 23 1975. By 1975, the name of the hospital had changed to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital. The new facility replaced the 1919 hospital in Decatur, Georgia.
