Typed newspaper caption from paper label attached to lower portion of print verso, folded over to lower fifth of print recto: "Recreational facilities at Fort Benning are among the best. This photo shows Doughboy Stadium, in which the football teams of Infantry School troops annually vie for championships before large crowds of enthusiastic rooters." Stamped on verso of print: "This photograph is not to be used without authority of The Commandant, The Infantry School, Ft. Benning, Ga. If authority is granted, credit line must read: 'Photo by Fl 'B,' 16th Obsn Sq AC, Lawson Field, Ga." Bottom of front (recto) of print inscribed in negative: "(0-662-740C-16 OBSN)(9-9-39-10:30A)(12-300) Doughboy Stadium. Fort Benning, Ga." The photograph was taken by the Flight B, 16th Observation Squadron, at Lawson Airfield, Fort Benning.
