- "Ready for block -- Georgia State coeds Melinda Carper, Sharon Lipscomb and Yvonne Renson wait their turn at the "auction block" for lucky ticket holders to claim them. The girls, pledges of Alpha Phi sorority, performed such duties as running errands, carrying books and helping with homework. It wasn't real slavery, though -- it only lasted for an hour during morning break. The stunt was intended to raise money for the sorority." (Newspaper caption attached to verso of print).
