- Description:
- Photographic print; Atlanta Journal reporter speaking with convicts at the Dallas, Georgia prison. Newspaper caption attached to verso of print: "Hell Hole Becomes a Haven -- This group of prisoners at Georgia's 'Hell Hole Prison' at Dallas told Journal Reporter Pete Craig (center) that Warden Q.E. Worthington has made 100 per cent improvement in conditions since he took over 'Little Alcatraz' last February. Left foreground is Sim Scarborough, life-termer, widely known for his escapes, and on the reporter's right is Forrest Ewing, once known as 'Georgia's Most Wanted Man.'" This print is not dated but seems to be part of the newspaper's series on the prison in Dallas from 1941.
