- Newspaper caption on print verso: "New Franklin Simon, Mrs. Sam Massell, wife of Atlanta's mayor, Thursday assisted Franklin Simon president M. L. Janis in opening ceremonies at the company's store at Peachtree Center. The second floor store is reached by a "butterfly" elevator which has an entrance directly on Peachtree Street. The new 13,000-square-foot store is the sixth Franklin Simon for the Atlanta area, joining Greenbriar, Lenox, South Dekalb, Northlake and Perimeter."
