Hart, Mayor W. B. Hartsfield, Larry Kleckley, Col. B. L. Robinson and Roy Otwell push on shovels as ground was broken Wednesday for the start of the $42,000,000 Buford Dam. At right, a tractor on the muddy road to the dam site tows the car of Fulton's Chief Neal Ellis out of the mud. The work started was on a $300,000 saddle dam, a subsidiary element of main dam." Also present were Col Walter K. Wilson and Lt. Col. J.R. Jewett, from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
