- Photographic print, partial overlay attached to verso of print and folded over to cover bottom of recto has typescript: "The 83rd Field Artillery at Fort Benning is so organized that it can demonstrate at the Infantry School with its guns either horse or motor drawn. Here horses and horsemen of Battery "C" proudly display their abilities. The world over, army experts assert the horse cannot be displaced entirely by motors." Stamped on verso of print: This photograph is not to be used without authority of The Commandant, The Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga. If authority is granted, credit line must read: 'Photo by The Reproduction Plant, The Infantry School." Verso bears date stamp: "Nov 5 1939." Bottom right margin of front (recto) of print inscribed: "38218-5."
