- Newspaper caption attached to print verso: "How Sherman Left Atlanta: The ruined building in the foreground, smashed by Federal shells, is the Georgia Railway and Banking Company. Together with the adjacent building it occupied the present site of the Peters Building. The covered wagon, part of the Federal baggage train, is about where the Five Pionts flagpole is now. The railroad in the foreground is spanned by the Whitehall Street viaduct. This picture was made in 1865." Front of print is inscribed "Kuhns Photo." The photographer was probably either a "William A." or "William T." Kuhns. The photographer buried in Oakland Cemetary in Atlanta is William A. Kuhns (1827-1905).
