These lawmakers from Clayton, Dekalb, and Cobb counties were at their desks at the State Capitol Monday when the Georgia General Assembly began its 1963 session. The historic session, first since the Senate was reapportioned by population, will see populous Atlanta metropolitan area counties represented by larger Senate delegations than ever before. At left, two House members from Clayton County look over proposed legislation. They are William J. Lee (L) and Edgar Blalock. At right, Senator H. McKinley Conway Jr., of DeKalb's 41st District, leans over Senator Edward S. Kentrick, of Cobb's 32nd District, for a quick conference." Date-stamped: "JAN 15 1963 JOURNAL." Photographer identified as Charles Pugh.
