- Newspaper caption on print verso: "Host to flames and death. G.P. Jones, manager of the Terminal Hotel, was asleep with Mrs. Jones in their third floor apartment when the crackle of flames awakened them. Mr. Jones said he rushed to the fire escape and found it enveloped in flames. He then broke out a window with an ashtray, cutting his left hand to the bone, and yelled to firemen who were raining ladders. The firemen carried the couple to safety. Mr. Jones is pictured at Grady Hospital where he received treatment.--Journal photo." Stamped "Return to May 17 1938 Fraysur."
