- Inscribed on negative envelope: "Anti-Death penalty protest - Gov. Mansion," date-stamped "JUN 3 1980," photographer identified as George Clark. Potts died in jail in September 2005. Two black-hooded protestors carry hand-lettered signs that read "46" and "hours from now," referring to the scheduled execution of Potts on July 1, 1980. Other protestors carry signs reading, "Gov. Busbee say yes to life"; "Why do people kill people who kill people to show that killing is wrong"; "Thou shalt not kill"; and "Say no to the death penalty." A large banner reads, "Stop the death penalty."
