- Typescript note attached to print verso: "Enclosed is a photograph of the old Payne Memorial Methodist Church, located at the corner of Hunicutt and Lucky Streets, Atlanta, Georgia, with the Pastor, the late Rev. S.R. Belk standing in front. The date 1892. Shortly after this picture was taken, the church structure was torn down and the present day church bearing the same name was constructed. Mrs. Thomas E. Scott, daughter (Mary Belk Scott) 1367 Fairview Rd. NE., Atlanta 6, Georgia." Newspaper caption: "Old Payne Memorial Methodist Church. Here is the old Payne Methodist church at the corner of Hunnicut and Luckie sts. in Atlanta in 1892. The pastor, the late Rev. S.R. Belk, stands in front of his church. Shortly after this old photograph was taken the structure was torn down and the present day church bearing the same name was built, Picture was submitted to The Atlanta Journal by Mrs. Thomas E. Scott (Mary Belk Scott), 1367 Fairview rd., N.E., Atlanta. She will receive $5 for her contributions."
