- Newspaper caption attached to print verso: "Amazon on sale at Speer Castle: Two women attending the sale of furnishings at the old Speer home on Peachtree St. look at the statue of an Amazon battling a tiger which is on the grounds of the famous old landmark. The home of Mrs. W.A. Speer, at 1611 Peachtree St., was built in 1885. It will be demolished to make way for an office building. --Journal photo by Jimmie Fitzpatrick." Date-stamped "May 10 1950."
