- Copy print? Verso inscribed: "Forsyth St., looking south across the tracks in 1877. Archers Stable and contiguous buildings were on the present site of Richs Dept. store. The dangerous railroad crossing was first bridged in 1891." Newspaper caption: "Looking south along Forsyth from Marietta Street." Caption date-stamped "Aug 4 1952." Caption inscribed "1875." Some of the signs that are visible read "Adair & Bros. / Hay Flour Grain Provisions &c," "Chapman Rucker & Co.," "Archer Stable," "Candy Factory," and "Vinegar Bitters." This image was later published in New York by E. & H.T. Anthony as a stereoview, with the caption "View from the Capitol."
