- "This insignia for the 14th Aircraft Depot Battalion, Atlanta Army Depot, is the first attempt at design for PFC Larry Wolfe, and his idea has the backing of the batalion commander, Lt. Col. Elswick Newport. The brown-bordered patch has an orange bordered outline of state of Georgia, where the unit was activated; a large blue ""C"" denoting the unit's mission of maintain and supplying ""C"" type aircraft and the eagle, symbolizing swiftness and alertness. Wolfe lives with his wife and small son at 3400 Meadow Road, Hapeville."-- Print verso. The Atlanta Army Depot (also called the Atlanta General Depot) was a unit of Fort McPherson. The Depot was later named Fort Gillem.
