They can learn to wire different things different ways." Newspaper caption: "Apprentices at work. Becoming a qualified construction electrician requires long hours and hard work for 330 apprentices who are enrolled in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers' training program. The program, which takes about four years to complete, involves classroom work at the I.B.E.W.'s training center and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training with cooperating contractors.
