- Newspaper assignment sheet attached to print verso identifies photographer Renee Hannans: "Greg Davis was answering a suspicious call on Southerland and McLendon. As he stepped out of the car he was shot by a black male riding a bike believed to be stolen from Little Five Points Sunday night. The officer returned fire killing the black male. He radioed in to inform precinct he was shot in chest area (The officer) but he did not survive. Plain cloth officer was working alone at the time. Another police officer was on his way to the call but arrived after shots fired. Davis was not wearing a bullet proof vest."
