- Description:
- Newspaper caption attached to print verso: "American history parades at Georgia State Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras festivities at Georgia State College Friday will see the spectrum of American history passing in review. Fraternities, sororities and campus organizations will vie for the most original and decorative entries. 'The Sandwich' (L), Sigma Nu's gastronomical entry, contains not only lettuce and cheese, but Peggy Owens and Wayne Rogers as well. 'Around the World in 80 Days' (C), the Kappa Sigma entry, puts Barbara Ann Morley and Gene Epps in a basket beneath a helium-filled balloon. Alpha Xi Delta has 'Snoopy Deeks the Red Baron' with Betty Evans as Snoopy atop the doghouse and Kenneth Wardlaw as Charlie Brown. Trophies and awards will go to the best entries and the King and Queen of Mardi Gras will be announced Friday at the Carnival in the Exhibit Hall of the Municipal Auditorium from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m." Caption date-stamped "Feb 22 1966 Journal." Three prints joined with black tape. Each print stamped "Georgia State College Photographic Service, Noel Davis, Chief."
