- Newspaper assignment sheet attached to print verso identifies photographer Nick Aroyo [sic]: "Feature on the one-year anniversary of the gay and lesbian oriented Outright [sic] Bookstore. Despite two recent incidents of what appeared to be anti-gay vandalism, the story [i.e. store] is thriving and will host a party to celebrate its first anniversary on Friday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. Owner Philip Rafshoon will be at the store after 8:30 a.m. - shots of him and exterior." Newspaper caption: "A coffeehouse atmosphere accounts for some of his success, says Rafshoon, because it encourages people to come in, browse and linger." Date-stamped "Thu Nov 17 1994."
