Newspaper caption: "Political happening: Women listen to speeches on Gay Pride Day at the state Capitol in June. About 500 people came to the rally; that same afternoon, 20,000 marched in Houston, 60,000 in Chicago and 100,000 in San Francisco." Assignment sheet date-stamped "Thu Aug 13 1987 J."
