Resting and listening on the steps of the state Capitol Tuesday are (left to right) Nicole Lynne and Anna Sykes, both 3, Aiyeisha Gray and Anna Sykes. They were among about 30 demonstrators who marched through downtown Atlanta to the Capitol -- where they heard several speakers -- to draw attention to the lack of food and shelter for the city's estimated 3,500 homeless and street people. Organizers said the march was called to show that the homeless need food and shelter for the whole year, not just the holidays." Caption is stamped "Wed Nov 23 1983 J." Newspaper assignment sheet attached to photo verso identifies photographer (Rich Addicks) and gives caption information: "On the steps of the Capitol, from left to right, Nicole Lynn, 3, Anna Sykes, 3, Aiyeisha Gray, and Anna Sykes. After walking from the corner of W. Peachtree-Peachtree to city hall and the Capitol this group sits down and listens to various speakers as part of a hunger demonstration, organized by the Welfare Rights Organization." Signs the group is holding read "Money for babies not for bureaucrats"; "Don't take food from a baby's mouth!"; and "Hunger and unemployment are crimes!"
