(Left to right) Monica Deas, Marion Smith and Phyllis Middleton of the Bakery, Confectionary and Tobacco Union, No. 42, react to speakers at Central City Park on Thursday. The speakers were part of an international Women's Day march and rally, which were used to publicize the plight of women under the Reagan administration. The march was sponsored by the metropolitan Atlanta chapter of the Coalition of Labor Union Women. Participants later marched to the Richard B. Russell federal building for more speeches." Caption stamped "Fri Mar 09 1984 J." Newspaper assignment sheet attached to print verso identifies photographer (Rich Addicks) and gives caption information: "From left to right: Monica Deas, Marion Smith, and Phyllis Middleton, with the Bakery, COnfectionary and Tabacco Local Union #42, react to speakers at Central City Park aas part of International Women's Day march and rally. The march was used to publicize the worsening plight of women under the Reagan administration. After the speeches, the women (and men) marched to the Russell building where more speeches were..." Signs being held in the photo read "A woman's place is in her union" and "We are circling the world with new vision."
