- Photographic print; AJC assignment sheet attached to print verso, identifying the photographer (Steve Halber), the date (October 30, 1980), the assignment number (I2i005), the assignment (Hershal [sic] Walker) and the caption ("Herschel Walker in the Physics building at the Univ. of Ga."). Six date stamps on verso of print: Jan 8, 1983; May 7, 1984; March 16, 1982; Sept. 24, 1981; Dec. 25, 1981; and April 6, 1983." The photograph was produced for the Atlanta Constitution, but it was used by both the Constitution and the Atlanta Journal. Walker played running back for the University of Georgia football team, where he was an All-American and winner of the 1982 Heisman Trophy. During his freshman season in 1980, Walker set the NCAA freshman rushing record and finished third in the Heisman Trophy voting.
