Work is proceeding on Phase 2 of Colony Square, the $75 million development on Peachtree Street between 14th and 15th streets. In the first panel, workmen are putting concrete finishing on a wall of one of the apartment buildings. The second photo shows a topside view of the Colony 400 building, the second office building in the development, while the last photo shows a welder at work on the office building. Phase 2 of Colony Square, developed by James E. Cushman, is slated for completion in late 1973. Included in this phase will be the second office building, apartment structures and a hotel to be operated by the Fairmont Hotel Co., operators of the prestigious Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. Colony Square's first phase consisted of the 100 Colony Square office building. Colony Square is expected to anchor the revitalization of the Peachtree-14th section of the city. A rapid transit station is designed for the area and nearby is the Memorial Arts Center. August 16, 1972. Staff Photos - Robert Connell."
