- Description:
- Printed on back: "Colony Square." Caption: "Ice-Capades Chalets to operate Colony Square rink. James E. Cushman, developer of Colony Square, gives Gov. Jimmy Carter's daughter, Amy, an early look at the ice skating rink at the Colony Square mall. Cushman said Ice-Capades Chalets, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ice-Capades, Inc., will operate the 7,500 square foot indoor rink at Peachtree and 14th streets. Retail shops and restaurants will overlook the enclosed mall, part of the office-hotel-apartment-condominium complex. Ice-Capades Chalet General Manager Michael J. R. Kirby said the company also plans openings in Greensboro, New Orleans and Orlando, in addition to rinks already in operation in southern California, Dallas and Houston, Amy is a little premature in wearing her ice skates to the mall-she'll have to wait until next September to use them there, when the rink is scheduled to open.
