- Printed on negative envelope: "Thomas Alonzo Cater, father of Nathaniel Cater. 2261 Verbena St. 1981-05-26. Photog: Steve Deal. Tommie Lee, Julia Mae Favor, Jimmy Anthony." Printed on news release: "Public safety commissioner Lee P. Brown made the following statement today: The body of a black male found on May 24, 1981 on the Fulton County side of the Chattahoochee River about one/fourth mile from interstate-285 has been identified by fingerprints as 27 ear old Nathaniel Cater, date of birth 5-29-53. Mr. Cater's last known address was 2261 Verbena Street, N.W. The Fulton County medical examiner has determined the cause of death was asphyxiation. The case has been assigned to the Atlanta-Metropolitan Task Force on Missing and Murdered Children for investigation. In addition, the missing persons case of Ronald Crawford, black male age 22, reported missing on 5-19-1981 was assigned to the special task force on Friday for further investigation into his disappearance."
