- Description:
- Printed on assignment sheet: "Lady Claire who is a Midtown resident and supports prostitution makes her point in the midst of other Midtown residents that came out in force to oppose prostitution on 6th street where they paraded the Juniper and Piedmont areas. Lady Claire claims to be a musician. Photog: Spink" Caption: "Protests from both sides. 'Lady Claire,' who says she supports streetwalkers, waves at passing motorists as anti-prostitution demonstrators march behind her. About two dozen Midtown residents staged a march Thursday evening to protest prostitution, claiming that prostitutes are disruptive and attract muggers, vandals, and other criminals to their Atlanta neighborhood. A smaller group defending the streetwalkers tended to draw more attention, however, with their bullhorn, gaudy dress and decorated car caravan. Story, 1D. Friday March 1, 1985."
