- Description:
- Newspaper caption attached to print verso: "Several ornate figures will remain in Atlanta's Terminal Station when it crashes to destruction unless buyers interested in preserving them speak up before next Monday. The Southern Railway System, which owns the building, saved a number of ornaments from demolition. But individual buyers haven't rescued all the figures, including an amiable couple atop two columns, above, and a worried-looking fellow with a lion's body, below. A 67-year-old cherub, left, whose youthful features have cracked with age sits unwanted in the station parking lot. Otis Jones, superintendent of the demolition job for the Hudgins Co., says that no more sections will be cut from the building unless buyers interested in specific figures contact the company this week. (Staff photos -- Al Stephenson)." Date-stamped: Feb 24 1972 Constitution.
