- Description:
- Printed on assignment sheet: "This is a flood folo on selected farmers who were hard hit. If time permits, will also be revisiting the tiny town of Newton (pop 900), for a folo on that town, which was completely submerged. it's right on the river. Also in the heart of the two counties I'll be visiting. Caption: Elmodel farmer Harry Holton, 79, shows flood damaged kernels of corn, left, and corn from a normal field in his right hand. The white, chalky kernels were on corn that was ten feet high and completely submerged under water. The flooded field had to be plowed under because the corn is not suitable for silage."
