- Newspaper caption attached to print verso identifies photographer (Guy Hayes): "New Apartments Open. Mayor Maynard Jackson addresses the crowd during opening ceremonies at the $2-million Pittsburgh Civic League Apartment complex at 801 McDaniel St. SW. The 120-unit housing development was constructed as part of the Atlanta Model Cities program. Each housing development built in the Model Cities program has a nonprofit sponsor, but the Pittsburgh Civic League became the first civic organization in the nation to be chosen to function in this capacity. The league arranged for land acquisition, construction, property management and continued operation of the complex." Caption date-stamped: Dec 9 1974 Journal."
