- Photographic print mounted to board. Verso of mount inscribed: "Compliments of J.C. Stokely to Miss Belle. Finest Locomotive on W. & A. R.R. Photoed [sic] Oct. 12th 1888. Barrett, Engine." The engine named after Governor Joseph E. Brown had its first run on October 13, 1888. According to the newspaper clipping reproduced in AJCP551-15, Stokely photographed the Joseph E. Brown in Calhoun, Georgia. In more recent hand on the verso of the mount: "Submitted by S.F. Lowe, 661 Francis Pl., NW, Atlanta." Photo was submitted to the AJC in 1961.
