- Printed on negative envelope: "Bergen, Edgar. W/Charles McCarthy. Ernest Rogers, ANI Personnel. November 1949. 23770" Caption: "Charlie does his best to air views. Journal Columnist Ernie Rogers talks with Edgar Bergen and Charlie McCarthy, who were interviewed on the Journal's program 'Views of the News' Friday night. Bergen managed to keep Charlie quiet long enough to tell how they got started in radio despite the dim view an executive first took. Their act caught on at parties and Bergen said he was surprised himself the way they went over when they were first put on the air in snatches. Journal Photo"
