Arnall reads his statement of resignation at a press conference shortly after learning that M. E. Thompson had taken the oat of office as Lieutenant Governor. The fight he has been waging against Assembly-elected Herman Talmadge was willed to Thompson. Arnall's four years and three days in office ended in his law offices at the Candler Building, since he had been barred from the Capitol by Talmadge. Photo by Pete Roton. January 19, 1947"
