- Printed on assignment sheet: "Physicians and Surgeons having federal funding pulled from it because of poor conditions: rat infestation, poor waste disposal, fire safety violations etc. will probably be forced to close. Reporter Belluck, Photographer Louie. February 8" Printed on assignment sheet: "Physicians and Surgeons Hospital has been notified that their Medicare contract will be terminated on 2/24/1989 due to non-compliance in some areas of the hospital. The hospital is in the process of correcting these deficiencies and . . . they can bring the hospital back in to compliance before the 24th deadline. Currently the hospital is open and continues to admit treat and participate in the Medicare program. Further releases forthcoming."
