- Description:
- Caption: "Talmadge sits in judgment on labor bills. Charge and countercharge, reason and counter-reason flew thick and fast between pro and con at the Capitol Monday as Governor Talmadge heard both sides on the labor bills that lay on his desk for gubernatorial approval or veto. This picture, taken during the argument, shows Senator Hell-Bent Edwards (left) speaking for approval of the measures as Dewey Johnson (right), president of the Georgia Federation of Labor, waited his turn to denounce them. After both sides had had their say, the Governor rose from his central chair and said: 'Well, boys, I've enjoyed hearing you talk. Where's my hat?' The hearing was thereby concluded.- Journal photo.
