- Printed on assignment sheet: "From John Sutlive, Savannah Ga. May. The exterior of the new federal post office and courthouse in Savannah has been completed, and the building is revealed as one of the architectural beauties of downtown Savannah. The old federal building was rebuilded to become part of the new. The structure occupies a solid block fronting on Bull Street from State to York. The city gave the government the portion of President Street from Bull to Whitaker to join the two pieces of property the government owned and to make the property one large area. In turn, the government gave the city enough land to widen State street on the northern boundary of the new building. The interior is now being completed. Already many of the federal activities to be located in the new structure have moved in. Photo by Rich.Page 4, May 29"
