- Caption: "Thousands escape holiday heat in swimming pools. This scene at Grant Park Pool Monday was typical as holiday crowds, pleasure-bent, splashes their way to freedom from July heat. Young, old and the in-betweens were at the pools early and stayed until the lights went out. Everybody had a good time and there were no serious casualties. Journal Photo by Taylor Moorman.
